Haze and smoke from the Point Fire near Lake Sonoma will continue to affect Healdsburg, Windsor, Sebastopol and Santa Rosa throughout the day and evening Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Healdsburg can expect sustained winds of 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph, Monday.

The weather service forecasts slightly calmer winds in Windsor — 5 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 18 mph — and Santa Rosa — 8 to 13 mph in the morning, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

A Spare the Air alert is in effect for the San Francisco Bay Area Monday.

Late Sunday, air quality in much of Sonoma County reached unhealthy (red) and very unhealthy (purple) levels, according to Purple Air.

Red levels — in the 151-200 range — indicate amounts of pollution can cause health problems for most people after 24 hours of exposure. Sensitive groups, including older, pregnant and immunocompromised people, may experience more serious effects.

Air quality in this range extends from the area of the fire around Lake Sonoma and southeast to include the city of Sonoma.

Purple levels, in the 200-300 range, indicate unhealthy air for everyone within 24 hours of exposure.
